On July 31, 1969, after a solid stint in Hollywood on the big screen, Elvis returns to live performances in Las Vegas with a vengeance. His return was so triumphant that the next chapter in his wildly successful career was just beginning. In July of 1970 Elvis starts rehearsals and filming for the documentary Elvis: That’s the Way It Is, which features live footage from his August engagement at the International Hotel in Las Vegas. The Colonel launched a massive promotional campaign for these performances, which he dubbed “The Elvis Presley Summer Festival.” So popular were these shows that the Elvis Summer Festival continued every August in Vegas through 1975. Offered is a very rare functional promotion piece that would have hung from a hook on the tables in the showroom at the Hilton, reserving that table for Elvis Presley’s Summer Festival shows. The abbreviation “Res.” has been handwritten on both sides of the banner, and one side sports an “All Star Shows” stamp near the top. This stamping is regularly seen on promotional pieces produced for Elvis shows in the period. This table reservation banner is a rarer promotional piece from the period—very few of these have survived over the years. The small canvas-like banner, showing signs of significant use, measures 7 by 5 inches (17.78 x 12.7 cm) and is accompanied by a letter of authenticity from Graceland Authenticated.

The banner shows signs of heavy use, with several areas of ink chipping off, especially along the top where the dowel is still intact and inserted through the banner. Excellent to Mint condition.
