March 29, 1957, would find Elvis at the Kiel Auditorium in St. Louis after the recent release of his first film Love Me Tender in November. By this time, Elvis had completed filming of his second movie Loving You and had appeared on television several times. His budding career was in full gear. This was Elvis’ second concert at Kiel, but his first as a headliner. The March 29, 1957, show would be the last performance at which Elvis wore his gold lamé pants with matching jacket designed by Nudie Cohn. The review in the St. Louis Dispatch read in part, “Elvis Presley, shimmering in sequins and metallic gold cloth, writhed and sang last night in Kiel Auditorium convention hall before a capacity crowd of about 11,000 spectators, most of them teen-age girls. Many times the appreciative audience drowned out Presley.” The consignor was one of these lucky young ladies who witnessed her idol from the front row seat! The offered early, collectible, ticket stub for the Friday, March 29th show in the Kiel Auditorium comes with an RCA Victor souvenir photo folio of Elvis, an “I Like Elvis” button, a 1977 photo calendar card and nine (9) period scrapbooks. An original collection from an adoring young fan who, like almost every fervent, female Elvis fan, created scrapbooks dedicated to her undying devotion to the King, with magazine articles, newspaper clippings and as many photos of Elvis as she could amass. This teen follower meticulously created not one scrapbook for Elvis’ activities, but nine full books that chronicle Presley’s life from July 1956 all the way through May 1960a passionate project that would make any Presley person proud. The souvenir photo folio measures 10 by 8 inches (25.4 x 20.32 cm), the ticket stub measures 1 1/4 by 1 5/8 inches (3.17 x 4.12 cm), and the scrapbooks, with five (5) measuring 13 1/2 by 10 inches (34.29 x 25.4 cm) and four (4) measuring 15 by 10 3/4 inches (38.1 x 27.30 cm). The rare ticket and early period collection are accompanied by a letter of authenticity from Graceland Authenticated.

The material is well-worn, but the scrapbooks are intact. The ticket is adhered to a page of one of the scrapbooks. Very Good to Excellent condition overall.
