Marge Thrasher was a legendary woman in Memphis whose public career began at the all-woman Memphis radio station WHER in the 1960s. Her role at the station evolved to include a call-in question and answer segment that became so popular, she was hired by Memphis channel 13 to host a morning show called Straight Talk. She continued to host the highly regarded show for 20 years and it was her good friend George Klein that once referred to Marge as “the white Oprah Winfrey.” The offered 16mm film contains an interview from Marge’s show with Elvis upon his return from his service in Germany. The film reel comes with two notes that describe and outline the contents of the film, including a list of questions posed to the star relating to his TV special with Frank Sinatra, his movies, basic training, music recording, Graceland, Christmas, foods, fan responses and more. This filmed interview reel is a true Memphis treasure containing a conversation between two legendary figures that continue to make the city proud. The reel measures 9 inches (22.86 cm) in diameter and holds approximately 500 feet (152.4 m) of film, with a running time of 14 minutes and 36 seconds. The reel is accompanied by a letter of authenticity from Graceland Authenticated.

The reel has been well preserved in its metal canister and presents in playable condition. Near Mint condition.
