Understandably, Elvis was concerned with security as well as being passionate about firearms, so it’s not surprising that both he and those close to him would carry weapons. If you want to work as a bodyguard for Elvis Presley and you’re one of his most trusted confidants, then you better believe you’re getting a personalized holster for your sidearm! And there was no more influential and important a recipient of a holster than Elvis’ own father, Vernon Elvis Presley. The offered black leather basket-weave patterned belt holster is embossed with a large “VEP” on the interior. The black patterned leather belt and holster is marked “44” by “MIXSON Leathercraft Miami FLA 71” with two brass hook closures, a holster and an additional leather loop likely for a knife or additional weapon. Mixson is a leathermaker whose line included duty gear such as the offered belt. The belt holster comes with a letter from Vernon’s later-in-life partner, Sandy Miller. After his divorce from Dee, Vernon dated his young nurse Sandy Miller, who later became his fiancée and the executrix of his estate. The accompanying letter from Sandy Miller Silverberg, dated August 6, 1996, reads, “Dear Tom, This belt and holder was among Vernon Presley’s personal belongings. These belts were purchased by Elvis for his family and friends, and appears in the photograph of the Memphis Mafia holding their Shelby County sheriff’s badges. As you can see, the belt is engraved with the initials ‘VEP’.” The belt measures 51 3/4 (131.44 cm) in length and 2 1/4 (5.71 cm) in width with the holster measuring 8 inches (20.32 cm) in length from top of belt. The sturdy belt, containing an additional side movable loop for securing a belt, is accompanied by a letter of authenticity from Graceland Authenticated.

The belt is in excellent, well loved condition with small diagonal cut marks on the interior near the holster.
