Along with his historic Aloha in Hawaii concert, Elvis’ performances at Madison Square Garden in New York City in June of 1972 are some of the most significant considering the importance of the venue, the success of the concerts and it being his first live performance in New York since the 1950s. Meant to be a three-day series, a fourth day was added when his first three shows sold out immediately, a first in Madison Square Garden history, which prompted The New York Times to describe the Elvis phenomenon as “Like a Prince from Another Planet.” June 9, 1972 was Elvis’ first performance at Madison Square Garden and his first concert in New York City since his appearance on the Dorsey Brothers, Steve Allen and Ed Sullivan shows in the 1950s, which had catapulted Elvis’ career into the stratosphere. The concert on June 10th was recorded live to make the RCA album Elvis As Recorded at Madison Square Garden. Offered is a complete (untorn) yellow ticket from that very first show at 8:30 p.m. on June 9, 1972. The full ticket from this sold-out, historic concert is for Sec 233, Row E, Seat 13 and measures 1 5/8 by 5 6/16 inches (4.12 x 13.65 cm). This full ticket comes with a seating chart for Madison Square Garden and the set is accompanied by a letter of authenticity from Graceland Authenticated.

The ticket is in Near Mint condition with few if any distresses, while the seating chart has been taped to cardboard and exhibits signs of heavy wear.
