Well into Elvis’ successful career, the Colonel and RCA had mastered the circular promotion of using a single release to promote an album, an album to promote a movie and vice versa. Elvis was one of the most prolific entertainers of his day, so this method of cross promoting the multi-media star was genius. Offered is a record store display poster, used in the actual record shops to promote a new record, for Elvis’ single release of “Indescribably Blue” and “Fools Fall in Love” which shipped on January 10, 1967 and sold more than 300,000 copies. Both tracks were recorded at RCA Studio B in Nashville but on different dates: “Fools Fall in Love” was recorded on May 28 and “Indescribably Blue” on June 12. With the release date so close to Elvis’ 32nd birthday on January 8, the marketing team used this event to tout this as a special promotional release... the advertising aptitude was sharp and never was an opportunity missed. The poster features the picture sleeves for the release so that fans could easily identity and purchase the new single. The poster, measuring 23 1/2 by 12 inches (59.69 x 12 cm), is stored flat and is accompanied by a letter of authenticity from Graceland Authenticated.

The poster has benefitted from minor professional restoration along the original fold lines, presenting us with a beautiful poster. Apparent Near Mint condition.
