From the Trude Forsher Collection

Even the Colonel could get caught up in the holiday spirit as indicated in the attached letter to Trude Forsher, dated Dec. 4, 1959 in which he covers a number of topics including following up on Neil Rau's column and his desire for clippings of any coverage, updated on having shipped RCA one and a quarter million Elvis Christmas cards to be distributed to record stores for fans, his desire to acquire a few copies of Nick Adams new album and the surprise Christmas gifts he is sending to Trude's sons. Examples of the Elvis Christmas greeting for fans with the Western Union message on the reverse (1) and the postcard with the postage paid reverse (3) that the Colonel mentions in the letter is also included along with the Dec 1 typed note that the Colonel sent with the samples. Trude follows up on all the Colonels concerns in a typed letter dated, Dec. 8, 1959 in which she positively addresses each point and includes a post script about Neil Rau in which she relays Mr. Rau's enthusiam for the Colonel's recent correspondance by mentioning Mr. Rau's own words, "You know I just received a most remarkable letter from the Colonel. It is a four page leter and very interesting. I shall keep this letter handy, so whenever I need to refer to the facts about the Colonel or Elvis all I have to do is check this letter." In this collection of correspondance, emenating directly from the Trude Forsher archive, the Colonel exhibits his attention to detail and his passion for marketing his client by every means available. The December 4, 1959, letter measures 11 by 8 1/2 inches (27.94 x 21.59 cm), and is accompanied by the original mailing envelope that measures 4 1/4 by 9 1/2 inches (11.43 x 24.13 cm). The December 1, 1959, letter measures 8 1/2 by 5 1/2 inches (21.59 x 13.97 cm). The December 8, 1959, letter Trude Forsher sent back to Colonel Parker measures 11 by 8 1/2 inches (27-94 x 21.59 cm) and the four postcards each measure 3 1/2 by 5 1/4 inches (8.89 x 13.34 cm): the postcard with the facsimile of Elvis’ telegram to his fans accompanies the December 4th letter, and the three postcards with the postage on the reverse accompany the December 1st letter. The group is accompanied by a letter of authenticity from Graceland Authenticated.

The letters show minor toning, as do the postcards, and the envelope has expected wear from mailing. Near Mint condition overall.
