The offered nine discs represent several stages of the production and promotion of the 1980 8-record boxed set from RCA producer Joan Deary, Elvis Aron Presley. The set included a huge sampling from Elvis’ entire career, including “Heartbreak Hotel,” “Blue Suede Shoes,” “Don’t Be Cruel,” “Hound Dog,” “Are You Lonesome Tonight,” “Jailhouse Rock,” “Suspicious Minds,” “Polk Salad Annie,” “Kentucky Rain,” “An American Trilogy,” “Yesterday,” “Unchained Melody,” “Love Me Tender” and many more. The 25th Anniverary boxed set featured songs from live performances, monologs, movie sountracks, TV specials, Las Vegas hits, lost singles, Elvis at the piano and the concert years—an amazing recap of an illustrious musical career. Offered are nine acetates for this 8-LP boxed set that include:

  • three 12-inch “RCA Reference Recording” 33 RPM acetates, with sides 5A, 5B and 2A of the boxed set;
  • “The Reference Point” labeled 12-inch single-sided acetate (DJL1-3781A) titled “Elvis Aron Presley Radio Station Sampler”;
  • two “The Reference Point” labeled 12-inch single-sided acetates (DJL1-3729A and DJL1-3729B) titled “Elvis Presley Multiple Set-Sampler”;
  • “The Reference Point” labeled 12-inch double-sided acetate of sides 3A and 3B of the boxed set, titled “Elvis Presley The Movie Years”;
  • “The Reference Point” labeled 12-inch single-sided acetate of side 6A of the boxed set, titled “Elvis Presley Lost Singles”;
  • and “The Reference Point” labeled 12-inch double-sided acetate of sides 8A and 8B of the boxed set, titled “Elvis Presley Concert-Dallas, Texas.” This last disc contains a live concert recorded on June 6, 1975, in Dallas Texas.

Interestingly, also included is a period mailing box marked “D.J. A.M. Delivery.” Each record measures 12 inches (30.48 cm) in diameter and the grouping is accompanied by a letter of authenticity from Graceland Authenticated.

While some of the discs suffer from minor storage-related distresses, none have been played extensively. VG overall, with some much better.
