On November 21, 1955, Elvis signed a contract with RCA and it was not long before the Colonel and RCA put the Elvis merchandising machine into full gear. RCA was interested in promoting its new star to bolster sales of his first album, entitled simply Elvis Presley. While several companies were used to print and produce photographs of the young star, Moss Photo Service (a favorite collectible among fans) was one preferred for production of these early promotional images. Offered are three early Moss Photo Service promotional photos with “Best Wishes Elvis Presley” facsimile inscription in white on the front of each. Each outer white margin contains a printed “Elvis Presley” with Moss Photo Service name and address in the lower left and “Exclusive RCA Victor Recording Artist” printed in the lower right. The three images include: a posed action shot of Elvis in the RCA 24th Street Studio in New York in December 1955; the famous image of Elvis performing on July 31, 1955 at the Fort Homer Hesterly Armory in Tampa, Florida, which is the cover of Elvis’ first record with RCA; and an image of Elvis on stage at the Dorsey Brothers show in 1956. Interestingly, in the upper right corner of the reverse of each photo, in light pencil, is written “19¢” A great early grouping of RCA promotion photos of Elvis by Moss Photo Service that each measure 10 by 8 inches (25.4 x 20.32 cm) and are accompanied by a letter of authenticity from Graceland Authenticated.

The photos present with only minor scuffing and scratches, with some light discoloration on the reverse. Near Mint condition.
