Elvis spent much of his time in the sixties in Hollywood working on his film catalog. During this part of his entertainment career, Elvis filmed 31 big picture movies. Offered are six (6) original period snapshots captured by fans during the filming of two of Elvis’ movies. The first three (3) photos capture Elvis on set while filming Live a Little, Love a Little at Marineland in California in March 1968. Inscriptions on the reverse of all three indicate the location, and the Kodak “developed on” date along the sides of the two larger photos read “JUN 68” and “APR 68.” Of course these dates are only an indication of when the film was developed, not when they were taken, which must have been roughly mid-March of that year while Elvis was filming the Marineland scenes for the movie. Graceland Auctions sold the tan Baracuta Model G4 jacket that was worn by Elvis in both the film and in these snapshots in August 2015 for over $10,500. In the film, Elvis’ character, photographer Greg Nolan, wears the tan jacket with the green turtleneck in the mermaid photo shoot scene.

The additional three (3) snapshots capture Elvis returning to his Beverly Hills home still dressed in his iconic white suit with light blue button-down shirt from The Trouble with Girls. This shirt was sold by Graceland Auctions in August 2016 for more than $13,500 and was one of the main costumes worn by Elvis in his role of Walter Hale, manager of the Chautauqua troupe, in the film. The three snapshots are inscribed on the back with the date October 1968 or Halloween 1968, which is just days after film production began. The reverse of the image of Elvis with a female fan identifies her as Sandi Miller. The lengthier inscription on the reverse of another reads, “Elvis going inside after talking to fans - just got home from filming Chautauqua ‘The Trouble with Girls’.” Five of these photos, capturing Elvis in the midst of his busy film career, measure 3 1/2 by 3 1/2 inches (1.37 x 1.37 cm), and the sixth, smaller photo measures 2 1/2 by 2 1/2 inches (0.98 x 0.98 cm). This collection of six original color snapshots is accompanied by a letter of authenticity from Graceland Authenticated.

The photos show only mild age-related toning and edge wear, but all have remains of tape mounting in a photo album on the reverse. Near Mint condition.
