From the Collection of Dixie Locke Emmons

In the mid-1950s, Dixie Locke held a very special place in the life and heart of Elvis Presley. The two dated for a couple of years and were serious enough to consider marriage. The families, also close, approved of the relationship, but fate had another idea and as it catapulted Elvis in one direction, Dixie’s path took her in another. However, the two maintained a close relationship over the years, so when Dixie’s sister was visiting Memphis from California in 1969, she took her children to visit Graceland and to meet Elvis. The offered four, original, color snapshots of Elvis, who is wearing a white shirt and blue-and-red scarf, were taken at the gates of Graceland that very visit as Elvis was greeting fans and signing autographs. Dixie’s nephew was one of the lucky recipients of an autograph and he continues to cherish the signature and memory of the Memphis trip that summer. Each image is notated on the reverse and contains a printed date on the front side of “Jun 69.” Each snapshot measures 3 1/2 by 3 1/2 inches (8.89 x 8.89 cm) and the grouping comes with a letter from Dixie Locke Emmons and a letter of authenticity from Graceland Authenticated.

All snapshots are in very good condition commensurate with age.
