Elvis hit the road for nine tours in 1976 with the first starting on March 17 at the Freedom Hall Civic Center in Johnson City Tennessee. By March 21, Elvis was in Cincinnati at the Riverfront Coliseum where he played two shows. Offered is a ticket stub from the evening 8:30 p.m. show along with five black-and-white photographs depicting Elvis on stage in his “Rainfall” jumpsuit entertaining a full house. The Ticketron ticket stub, for Sec 213, Row-Box B, Seat I, and snapshots are accompanied by copies of three original newspaper articles describing Elvis’ appearance in Cincinnati, Ohio as, “performed before his wildly enthusiastic fans at two sold-out concerts Sunday at Riverfront Coliseum” and “It was a scene comparable only to the Beatles in their first concert here in 1964 at the Gardens when the constant barrage of flashbulbs and total, never-changing din, made it a scene out of another world.” One of the articles by Dale Stevens, entitled “Elvis: F-A-T, but fun” contained a glowing review of the show and Elvis’ performance, but also was less flattering with regard to Elvis’ physical appearance. The second article from the Cincinnati Post by Dale Stevens that is included is dated March 26 and is in response to the onslaught of criticism he received from fans because of his derogatory remarks on Elvis’ girth. The article titled, “Elvis in retrospect: The readers react with love, fury” refers to the anger that fans had at Dale’s disparaging comments and the undying love they had for their idol. Had the term been as common at the time, fans may have reacted to Dale’s review as “fake news,” they were so frenetic. This collection of ephemera from that March concert in Ohio is a tribute to the everlasting adoration for Elvis and his music among a vast variety of fans. The ticket stub, measuring 2 by 4 inches (5.08 x 10.16 cm), together with the photographs, each measuring 5 by 7 inches (12.7 x 17.78 cm), are accompanied by a letter of authenticity from Graceland Authenticated.

The ticket is in very good condition with typical signed of creasing and discoloration from age and handling. The photos are in good condition overall with some surface scratching and discoloration on the reverse from being stored in photo book pages.
