Offered is a TDK “Super Avilyn” betamax format video tape with the complete 24 minute interview of Felton Jarvis and Jerry Reed that George Klein did for his documentary television show Elvis Memories. The tape contains over 4 hours of recordings from the early to mid 1980s as well, including a complete broadcast of the documentary from 1981, a 1985 broadcast of Showtime's Elvis Presley's Graceland program, the 24 minutes of the interviedw with Jarvis and Reed and a Cinemax broadcast of Elvis: That's the Way it Is. Klein's Elvis Memories was produced to celebrate the life and career of his dear friend Elvis Presley, and to counter a torrent of unflattering press and books that had been published in the few years following Elvis' passing. While only one funny anecdote from Jerry Reed made the final cut, the complete interview with Reed and Jarvis is offered here, transferred to the betamax format tape from the original production recordings. During the interview, Reed especially tries to put Elvis' career in historical perspective, talking about the impact he had on him personally, by recording several of his songs, and the industry in general. Jarvis recounts intimate details of recording sessions with Elvis, and both men relate several touching and funny stories from their time with Elvis. The highlight is a detailed retelling by both men about Jerry being called into the recroding session in Nashville when Elvis recorded Reed's song "Guitar Man." If George had kept rolling, he probably could have done a whole show with just these two! The recording originated from the Jarvis family, and may be the only known copy of the full interview with Jerry and Felton. The TDK “Super Avilyn” betamax format video tape measures 3 3/4 by 6 inches (9.53 x 15.24 cm). The tape is accompanied by a letter of authenticity from Graceland Authenticated.

The tape presents with no defects and in playable condition. Near Mint to Mint condition.
