The King of Rock ‘n’ Roll was revered by fans and as a result was showered with tokens of adoration from them over the years. While many of these gifts never made it out of the concert venues, much less home with Elvis, this charming white handkerchief, lovingly embroidered in green, yellow and brown thread in the shape of musical notes and a guitar, was one that found its way to Graceland. The delightful design with Elvis Presley’s name and “That’s Alright Mama” stitched in red has also been stamped with an early image of Elvis and three later images of Elvis on the corners. This delicate handkerchief was given by Elvis to his Aunt Delta and comes with a typed letter and handwritten note from Elvis’ longtime cook and maid, Nancy Rooks, that attests to her acquisition of the piece from Aunt Delta, with the note stating, “This handkerchief a fan send it to E.P. It was given to E.P. maid by his Aunt Delta.” Likely intended to be treasured, this gift touched Elvis enough to pass it along to cherished family. The handkerchief measures 15 1/2 by 15 1/2 inches (39.37 x 39.37 cm) and is accompanied by a letter of authenticity from Graceland Authenticated.

The handkerchief exhibits moderate to heavy toning, especially along the creases from the folds. Excellent condition.
