While Elvis typically favored the Cadillac marque, he was an avid automobile enthusiast and owned a wide variety of makes during his lifetime. Over the years, his collection included vehicles from Lincoln, Stutz, MG, Mercedes and Messerschmitt, just to name a few. Elvis was well known to purchase an item that caught his eye and this included vehicles and motorcycles as much as clothing and jewelry. In 1974, Elvis made a grand entrance into the Houston Livestock and Rodeo in an aptly named American classic, the Ford Bronco, so it’s no surprise that he would have one in his own collection. Offered is the 1971 license plate for Elvis’ own 1966 Ford Bronco (the year, make and model of the car related to this plate was confirmed by a record in the Graceland Archive). The Tennessee white metal license plate with raised black letters “1-S0366” comes with its original plate envelope that displays the word “Bronco” written in pen on the front. The envelope has suffered heavy wear, with wrinkling and tears along two sides. The license plate, measuring 6 by 12 inches (15.24 x 30.48cm), was originally offered in the 1999 Graceland Archives auction as part of lot B123 (it can be identified in the 1999 catalog photo by the small scratch on the "1") and comes with a copy of that original letter as well as a letter of authenticity from Graceland Authenticated.

The plate presents in perfect condition with a small scratch across the “1” keeping it from an unqualified Mint condition. Near Mint to Mint.
