The soundtrack for Elvis’ 1960 film G.I. Blues was recorded in April and May 1960 at RCA Victor Studio C and Radio Recorders in Hollywood. The album, released by RCA in October 1960, topped the Billboard charts. The song “Big Boots” was written by Sid Wayne and Sherman Edwards and was a track on side 2 of the soundtrack album. The soundtrack for G.I. Blues was also nominated for two Grammy awards in 1960. In its heyday, Radio Recorders was the best recording studio in Los Angeles and Studio C was the heart. Radio Recorders was used by RCA and other labels and witnessed greats such as Elvis, Billie Holiday, Louis Armstrong, the Caprenters, Jimmy Hendrix and many more. In 2004, Radio Recorders was decclared a Los Angeles historical attraction yet despite its legacy, the interior of the building was repurposed and now the legendary studio will live on only in memories and treasured artifacts like the offered acetate. The single-sided 78-rpm acetate of Elvis' "Big Boots" has the bright yellow-orange Radio Recorders label that reads "78," indicating the playing speed, as well as "SO-TAKE-3 / BIG BOOTS (composite) / 1:27" typed onto the label. The acetate measures 10 inches (25.4 cm) in diameter and is accompanied by a letter of authenticity from Graceland Authenticated.

The acetates presents with only the most minor distresses in the way of scuffing and very small scratches. Near Mint condition.
