From the collection of “Rockin’” Robin Rosaaen.

This white shirt with blue concentric circle pattern was designed for Elvis by Bill Belew and retains the I.C. Costume Company label. Hollywood designer Bill Belew, known for creating Elvis’ famous jumpsuits, designed both performance and personal wardrobes for Elvis. Cino Romano, the tailor working with Bill Belew to custom-make clothing and costumes for Elvis, recalls in the letter offered with this shirt, “I first met Elvis in the summer of 1968 when he was getting ready to make his first public appearance in eight years, the NBC Elvis Special. I went to take his measurements at the NBC studio where he was rehearsing. He was then using the Dean Martin dressing room which was empty because the Dean Martin show was off for the summer. I made Elvis seven or eight outfits for the TV Special, the most famous is the black leather outfit. Thereafter I began making all of his custom made clothing.” Romano goes on to convey his fondness for the star, who was “very down to earth” with a “good heart.”

This shirt, which has the high Napoleonic collar favored in Elvis’ jumpsuits and elastic at the biceps and wrists, is also offered with a letter from Vester Presley in which he states, “Elvis wore these type of shirts a lot whne [sic] lounging around Graceland and he would sometimes wear them on stage too. One day when Elvis was cleaning out his closet and giving away clothes as he often did … he gave me this shirt.” This stylish blue-and-white concentric-circle-patterned shirt with six buttons down the front was custom-made by I.C. Costume Company, Hollywood, California and is accompanied by a letter of authenticity from Graceland Authenticated.

The shirt is in Excellent condition overall with no evidence of stains.
