December 2-12, 1976 was Elvis’ 15th “season” performing at the Las Vegas Hilton and would end up being his last set of concerts in the legendary theater of the former International Hotel. Elvis performed 15 shows for this engagement and while reviews over the performances vary, Elvis started out strong, and with Ginger Alden in the audience on the opening night, each tune was belted with purpose. Elvis’ magic and charm were on full display as he began his pre-holiday Jubilee in full control, giving the audience exactly what they came to see and hear. Elvis performed a single dinner show on the opening night of December 2, 1976 and would continue with only one show a night except for Fridays and Saturdays. As always, the entire two week run was completely sold out. Offered is a rare pink scarf with blue printed facsimile signature given to Sue Black by Elvis as she recounts in her letter that states in part, “In the 1970’s I dated a Gentleman that was friends with some of Elvis Presley’s Inner Circle. He took me to Las Vegas numerous times to see Elvis Presley at his Las Vegas Hilton Engagements. I received many scarves directly from Elvis Presley including the one referenced above.” In addition to this wonderful pink scarf with rounded corners, measuring 34 by 34 inches (86.36 x 86.36 cm), and “turquoise signature” that Sue mentions, also included in her letter are the additional items being offered with the scarf that include:

  • Souvenir Concert Pinback Button, measuring 3 1/2 inches (8.89 cm) in diameter;
  • Souvenir Concert Button on a Metal Chain, measuring 2 1/2 inches (6.35 cm) in diameter;
  • 1976 Elvis Calendar Card, measuring 3 7/8 by 2 3/8 inches (9.84 x 5.39 cm);
  • Las Vegas Hilton Table Tent Card, measuring (folded) 5 by 5 inches (12.7 x 12.7 cm);
  • 1976 Pre-Holiday Festival Opening Night Souvenir Folio, measuring 11 by 8 1/2 inches (27.94 x 21.59 cm); and
  • Loxi Sibley poster, stored rolled, measuring 17 x 11 inches (43.18 x 27.94 cm).

This fabulous collection of seven (7) relics from that last opening night holiday season performance that emanates from the fan that attended that evening is accompanied by a letter of authenticity from Graceland Authenticated.

The scarf is in excellent condition overall with staining in and around facsimile signature (possibly from storage). The additional pieces are all in excellent condition with minor creasing in the upper right corner of the souvenir folio.
