The start of his second tour of 1975 began at Von Braun Civic Center in Huntsville, Alabama where Elvis had shed a few pounds and his slimmer figure delighted fans as he swiveled his hips and drove the ladies wild. Elvis was upbeat and played with the crowd, jokingly saying after kissing one woman, “You got to me, you know that don’t you? A few weeks ago, another girl kissed me like that and gave me some kind of jungle rot. Now you’ve got it.” Not only did women of all ages rush the stage, leaving some security with injuries, but several girls ended up in the hospital after trying to leap from the balcony trying to get closer to their idol. A young fan of about 8 years was close enough to the stage to catch Elvis’ attention; she seemed scared, which Elvis noted, stroked her cheek to reassure her that he was harmless and gave her a scarf. Elvis was in fine form and the fans drank in every drop. Offered is a yellow scarf, measuring 35 by 35 inches (88.9 x 88.9 cm), that one lucky fan acquired from Elvis during that fine and fun performance along with additional treasured tokens that include: a souvenir photo folio, measuring 11 by 11 inches (27.94 x 27.94 cm); a souvenir button, measuring 3 inches (7.62 cm) in diameter; a ticket stub from the show, measuring 1 1/2 by 2 inches (3.81 x 5.08 cm); a small original snapshot, measuring 2 by 2 inches (5.08 x 5.08 cm); modern prints of ten (10) concert photos and two (2) photos of fans waiting in line, each measuring 6 by 4 inches (15.24 x 10.16 cm); and photocopies of a newspaper ad and clipping.

The scarf also comes with a letter from P. Whitt that states, “My Aunt bought tickets to the Elvis Presley Concert in Huntsville, AL for myself, my Mother and herself. The concert was May 31st, 1975 in the afternoon. We were so surprised when our seats were on the first row of the concert. I was so thrilled. My Aunt did not expect for us to be so close. What an exciting evening. I had a bright yellow pants suit on, as shown in the picture. I was awarded a beautiful yellow scarf, a song, which I don’t remember, and a French Kiss! Yes, a French Kiss! I did not tell my hubby until years later.” Elvis must have planted quite a few kisses during this show as one of the images included with the scarf depicts Elvis in a lip lock and another clearly shows the back of a woman in bright yellow (with similar hairstyle to the woman receiving a kiss) in front of a kneeling Elvis wearing a big grin! It was at this afternoon show on May 31, 1975 that Elvis first wore his Chief (Indian Feather) white jumpsuit and the images included with the lot perfectly capture the dashing King in this stunning costume. This ideal collection from an upbeat performance with Elvis in prime form is accompanied by a letter of authenticity from Graceland Authenticated.

The scarf presents with several stains, possibly from makeup, and has been stored folded. The other materials have only minor distresses. Scarf is Near Mint condition.
