In the 1970s, as Elvis’ Vegas appearances and concert tours across the nation became frequent and consistent, a highlight for fans during every performance was the chance to obtain a scarf from Elvis on-stage. This gesture became a staple of most shows and fans were eager to be the lucky recipient. Despite souvenir scarves being sold at each concert venue, it is these personal scarves that adorned the King’s neck and were used to wipe the perspiration from his brow before being tossed to the anxiously awaiting fans that are the most sought after by collectors. Perhaps the pinnacle of collector scarves is the offered baby blue example that contains a personalized inscription and signature from Elvis to his beloved Aunt Delta.

Elvis was on the road and in the air for much of 1975. With three concert series in Vegas and three tours around the states, Elvis was away from Graceland more than he was there, so when his concert schedule had him performing at the Mid-South Coliseum in Memphis on June 10, 1975 he made sure to spend a few nights at home. It was before this hometown show that Elvis presented Aunt Delta with this touching token. The inscription on the scarf reads “To Aunt Delta May God Bless you allways. Elvis Presley June 10, 1995 MEMPHIS.” The scarf comes with a typed note from Elvis’ aunt that reads, “As everyone knows I am Elvis’ aunt. I lived at Graceland since 1967. Elvis asked me to move in here at that time. This blue scarf was one [he] would wear when he did a show. He signed this scarf for me when he was going to do a show here in Memphis. Delta Biggs 3764 Elvis Presley Memphis TN 35116.” While many scarves were no doubt gifted with great appreciation to fans over the years, perhaps none was gifted with as much love and care as this blue beauty. Another example of a scarf signed and inscribed to a family member exists in the Graceland Archives collection. Signed and given to Elvis' daughter Lisa Marie, the scarf reads  "To Yisa / Long Beach Arena / I Love You My Lisa / Daddy / Wednesday / Nov. 15, 1972" (Yisa was a nickname used by Elvis for his daughter). The offered scarf measures 34 by 34 inches (86.36 x 86.36 cm) and is accompanied by a letter of authenticity from Graceland Authenticated.

The scarf has been stored folded and has several folds and creases. The ink has bled moderately. Excellent to Mint condition.
