Norman Taurog directed several successful Presley films, with Live a Little, Love a Little being the last, not only for Elvis but for Taurog as a director. Different than previous Presley films, his 28th movie, Live a Little, Love a Little is a fast-paced, corny tale of eccentric adorations and crazy adventures centered on Elvis’ co-star, who plays a whimsical yet bizarre lady jockeying for the attention of Greg Nolan, Elvis’ character. Elvis plays a carefree photographer who loses his job and his home after entangling with his crazy co-star, played by Michele Carey. While she finds him another home, Greg takes on two full-time photographer jobs to repay her, forcing him to run frantically from one shoot to another and as one would suspect, hysteria and hilarity ensues. Live a Little, Love a Little is based on the Dan Greenburg novel Kiss My Firm but Pliant Lips. The MGM film opened nationally on October 23, 1968. Elvis’ co-stars included Michele Carey, Don Porter, Rudy Valee, Dick Sargent and Vernon Presley, who makes a cameo appearance as an extra. Offered is a black-and-white promotional photo of Mr. Vernon Presley’s director’s chair located on the set. The photo has been inscribed in black marker in the upper left corner, “Daddy, Out of sight but Not out of mind. Love E.A.P” with the word “Not” underlined for emphasis. Elvis had begun filming for Live a Little, Love a Little in March 1965 before Vernon drove to California in Elvis’ new Lincoln Continental Mark II at the beginning of April. When Vernon arrived, he filmed his small non-speaking role in the movie but Elvis was not released from the filming production until May. It was likely after his father’s brief visit that Elvis, missing him, penned this thoughtful memento. The signed photo comes with a letter from “EP Archives” of Las Vegas, Nevada, stating it was acquired from Vernon’s fiancée and executrix of his estate, Sandy Miller Silverberg. A heartfelt missive to Elvis’ most important “co-star” in the film. This sweet signed photo measures 8 by 10 inches (20.32 x 25.4 cm) and is accompanied by a letter of authenticity from Graceland Authenticated.

The photo presents with only minor distresses on the reverse where tape was removed. Near Mint condition.
