Aria is a Japanese guitar maker that began production in 1964 and became popular in the United States in the 1970s and 1980s. Offered is an Aria guitar that was autographed and inscribed by Elvis for a fan named Vicky during a concert in May 1977. Elvis was very appreciative of his fans and would often bestow upon them scarves or other accoutrements right off his person, and just as often they would shower their idol with gifts or ask him to autograph on a variety of different mediums so at least they would have a signature of the King. The signed and inscribed Aria guitar is an ideal example of a more daring request. The guitar comes with a letter from Victoria Ansterich that states:

Well I came across one piece that was a very special present from my ex husband that I held very near and dear for the past 30 years. It is something that you, or any other Elvis fan will enjoy...This was a trip that my husband treated me to for my 36th birthday on May 28, 1977. At the time we lived in Rochester, N.Y. In fact, my husband was supposed to get tickets for the Rochester show which was a few days earlier, but because they sold out well in advance, he instead ended up getting great tickets for the Philadelphia, PA. show for that night which worked out well. As usual, I was well prepared with my camera and a guitar that belonged to my husband. By the end of the concert I had already perched myself point blank at the bottom of the stage. I had already spent the entire night screaming and snapping photos along with all the other girls, one of which my husband later taped to the guitar and that you see in the pictures. At the end of the concert and during a chaos around the stage, I yelled for Elvis to sign the guitar for my birthday. All of a sudden, he shot out his hand, and gestured to his bodyguards to let me through and signed the guitar for me.

This Aria guitar contains the interior paper label that lists only part of the serial number of the Diamond Aria guitar as a portion has rubbed off—only the end “959” is visible for this model number 6711. An additional number “21050” has been stamped into the fret. The guitar is signed and inscribed on the front “To Vicky Best Wishes Elvis Presley” with the photograph that she mentions in her letter taped to the front of the guitar just below the inscription. One could not ask for a more appropriate medium for this dark and bold Elvis Presley inscription and signature than a guitar, the essential tool for the legendary musician. The Aria guitar measures 41 by 15 3/4 by 4 1/2 inches (104.14 x 40.0 x 11.43 cm) and is accompanied by a letter of authenticity from Graceland Authenticated.

The guitar is in excellent condition overall with typical signs of wear from age and use. The back body of the guitar has surface scratching and paint residue.
