From the Trude Forsher Collection

With his dashing good looks, extraordinary talents and well-loved nature, it is no surprise that Elvis remains one of the most photographed celebrities of all time. Countless images of Elvis exist, yet some are more desirable than others and certainly those that originate directly from the collection of Trude Forsher fall into that category. Trude Forsher played a pivotal role as Colonel Parker and Elvis’ West Coast secretary and promotional coordinator in Hollywood during the early part of his career, starting in 1956 right after Elvis’ appearance on The Milton Berle Show and continuing through February 1961. Offered is a wonderful collection of promotional black-and-white photographs of the superstar that includes:

  • Three (3) photos of Elvis in dark jacket and a lei with printed inscription “Loving You Elvis Presley” on the front, each measuring 10 by 8 inches (25.4 x 20.32 cm);
  • Two (2) different posed promotional photos from the 1956 film Love Me Tender, one with secretarial inscription (likely Trude Forsher) “???eth [illegible name] Suzanne Sincerely Elvis Presley” on the front, each measuring 10 by 8 inches (25.4 x 20.32 cm);
  • Three (3) different posed promotional photos from the 1957 film Jailhouse Rock, two with a descriptive trailer stamp on the reverse promoting the movie, each measuring 10 by 8 inches (25.4 x 20.32 cm);
  • Two (2) 1956 “Moss Photos” of Elvis depicted in a green jacket, both with printed inscription on the front and printed “Compliments of Elvis and the Colonel” on the back. Both have an additional secretarial inscription (likely Trude Forsher) on the reverse, each measuring 10 by 8 inches (25.4 x 20.32 cm) - 10 by 8 inches (25.4 x 20.32 cm);
  • Three (3) 1955 Speer/SUN promotional photos of Elvis with blue printed signature “Sincerely Elvis Presley” on the front and one with additional “To Judy” inscription (secretarial, likely Trude Forsher) on the front, each measuring 7 by 5 inches (17.78 x 12.7 cm);
  • One (1) 1956 “Moss Photo” of Elvis depicted standing in a green jacket with printed inscription “Best Wished Elvis Presley” on the front and printed “Compliments of Elvis and the Colonel” on the back, measuring 3 1/2 by 2 1/2 inches (8.89 x 6.35 cm); and
  • One (1) 1958 King Creole promotional photo card, featuring Elvis in his Army uniform, measuring 3 1/2 by 2 1/2 inches (8.89 x 6.35 cm).

This impressive assemblage of fifteen (15) photos emanates directly from the files of Trude Forsher and is accompanied by a letter of authenticity from Graceland Authenticated.

The photos are in excellent condition overall with the smaller Moss photograph exhibiting some minor scratches and indents that do not affect the visual appeal.
