Cuff links became fashionable in the 18th century as a men’s accessory used to close the cuffs on a dress shirt. As men’s fashion progressed through the centuries and industrialization paved the way for mass manufacturing, cuff links became more affordable and thereby increased in popularity and use. Cuff links became available in every material, color, and design, and since Elvis was one to set his own fashion trends and personalize his style, it’s no surprise he would have chosen a sleek sterling silver, black and green malachite pair. The cuff links, with toggle back, are stamped “Mexico 925” on each, and come with a copy of a three-page letter dated 10/25/88 from Patsy Presley that states in part:

This small, but very significant jewelry box set alongside several larger ones that Elvis had on his dressing table. Although, it might have gone unnoticed by most - this little treasure chest held some things that were much more valuable - for it was brimming over with small treasures of yesterday’s memories gone by - Memories that only Elvis would hold dear. I’ve seen Elvis go through his expensive jewelry, perhaps choosing a favorite ring - he would slide it on his finger and give one of those devilish cunning smiles. He really loved large extravagant pieces of jewelry, the kind he shared, often, with everyone who was fortunate to be there at the right time. Elvis also loved and appreciated the less expensive gifts he received - some from family and friends and others, even from a fan occasionally, that would somehow get mixed in with the personal gifts. Elvis knew that each of these gifts had been choosen [sic] with great pride and much thought and love had gone into the final choice. When Elvis opened his Christmas or Birthday gifts he would make sure that he devoted equal time to each gift - he always felt that it was not the gift, but rather the thought that counted. Elvis was truly a believer in the true meaning of Christmas for everyone - I miss this little chest... I too, have often looked at all the pieces, wondering which ones held the most special memory for Elvis.

These handsome, oval cufflinks measure 9/16 by 1/2 inch (1.42 x 1.27 cm) on the face and are accompanied by a letter of authenticity from Graceland Authenticated.

The cuff links are in excellent condition overall with the silver slightly tarnished.
