Starting in the late 1960s, Elvis became quite enamored with scarves as part of his personal wardrobe, and scarves eventually became a central part of his concert wardrobe as well. He used them to dab his forehead during shows and would frequently toss them to audience members. At home, Elvis would wear scarves on his ranch simply to accessorize his fashionable attire and to curb perspiration. Offered is a personal scarf, printed “Jacqmar London” in white in the lower left corner, that is dark blue with hand-stitched edges. The scarf comes with a handwritten letter from Patsy Presley on notepaper that states in part, “Enclosed please find navy neck scarf belonging to Elvis - One of the scarves he wore with his casual attire. He wore these scarves during the late 60’s - I really don’t know if there is a picture of Elvis wearing this scarf, but if there is, I know you will find it. Ha!” The English brand Jacqmar was founded in the 1930s supplying silks to haute couture houses. After recognizing that the remnants could be used to create scarves, the company made a name for itself in this market from the 1950s through the ’70s. This Jacqmar London brand blue scarf measures 23 1/4 by 23 1/4 inches (59.05 x 59.05 cm) and is accompanied by a letter of authenticity from Graceland Authenticated.

The blue scarf is in very good, used condition with areas of soiling and staining and wrinkles overall.
