Savage Arms Co. manufactured the model 1907 in .32 caliber from 1907 through 1920. The model is offered referred to as the “1905” because of the date stamped on the pistol of November 21, 1905—the date that Elbert Searle was granted a firearm patent which was the basis for the design of the Savage semi-automatic pistol. This pistol uses no screws and was popular because of its small size and its 10-round double-stacked magazine. The gun was endorsed by celebrities such as Buffalo Bill Cody. This example has the Savage Quality (Indian head) seal on both sides of handle of gun and is marked at the top of barrel “Savage Arms Co. Utica NY USA Cal 32 / Patented November 21, 1905 - 7.65 mm” with stamped serial number 174954. The pistol comes with a letter from Dick Grob that states in part:

In the 1970’s Elvis frequented Palm Springs, California where he had a house. During these visits he often went to the police shooting range to fire different weapons. He also visited several gun stores located in the city. One of his favorites was Tiny’s Gun Store where he purchased or traded for many weapons and other items. Tiny, the owner, admired one of Elvis’ rings and Elvis asked him if he wanted to trade for it. Tiny said yes and offered several items for the trade. One such item was a Savage Model 1905, serial number 174954, .32 Caliber, (7.65 mm) a semi automatic pistol, made in the mid 1920’s by Savage Arms Corporation, Utica New York. I advised Elvis that this was an excellent collector’s item and it was one of the items he traded for the ring. Elvis later shot the weapon several times at the police range. The last time Elvis fired this weapon, he handed it to me and said that I could have it.

This example, personally owned by Elvis, is accompanied by a letter of authenticity from Graceland Authenticated.

The gun is in excellent condition overall with wear to the logo on the left side of the handle indicating use.
