Elvis had many loves in his life, and one important passion was firearms. He amassed an impressive collection over the years and would often carry a firearm with him, making a holster a needed accessory. A smaller-sized holster enabled Elvis to keep his firearm close without drawing unnecessary attention to the gun. Offered is a black-colored basketweave-patterned leather holster with belt strap. While the masculine holster contains no visible identifying hallmarks, it comes with a letter dated January 27, 2001 on Sonny West TCB letterhead, which reads: “This letter is to confirm the authenticity of a gun holster given to me by Elvis Presley in the early to mid-seventies. It was given to him by a policeman in one of the cities Elvis performed in while on tour. It has a waffle type design on the front and is black in color. It seems to have been dyed black because of the stain marks at the top of the holster. The leather tab for securing it to a belt was custom-made and sewn on by Mike McGregor, an employee that worked at Graceland. Mike was very talented at leather craft and made several items for Elvis over the years. This item is an excellent addition to an Elvis Presley personal belonging collection.” The letter is signed “Sonny West.” This pristine example of one of Elvis’ personal holsters measures 8 1/2 by 4 inches (21.59 x 10.16 cm) and is accompanied by a letter of authenticity from Graceland Authenticated.

The holster shows no defects but does exhibit signs of moderate use. Excellent to Mint condition.
