Elvis loved jewelry and often his spirituality affected the gems he chose. Elvis favored certain stones in his jewelry and tiger’s eye was one such stone, perhaps because it is believed to bring harmony, balance and protection as well as enhance good luck. The iconic stone’s appeal, so popular among gentlemen in the 1970s, lies in an effect known as chatoyancy, which creates the thin elliptical line that crosses the center of the stone and gives it the look of a cat’s eye. This comes from the parallel mineral fibers within the stone that, when polished in its cabochon shape, reflect the light in a certain manner. Tiger’s eye stone is actually a form of quartz and has unique coloring of golden browns. This 14-karat yellow gold men’s ring has a large central oval-shaped tiger’s eye stone measuring 19 x 14 mm mounted in a 14-karat gold setting. The ring, which measures size 10 and weighs a total of 9.8 grams, comes with certificate from Jimmy Velvet of the Elvis Presley Museum that states, “This 14k gold Tiger Eye Ring was the personal property of Elvis Presley. It was given by Elvis to Red West, his bodyguard. It is interesting to note that Elvis was known as ‘Tiger’ to his Karate peers. This piece has been on exhibit at the Elvis Presley Museum since 1983.” This attractive ring is accompanied by a letter of authenticity from Graceland Authenticated.

The ring is in excellent condition overall.
