Roy and Janelle McComb lived in Tupelo, Mississippi, where Elvis was born, and were lifelong friends of the Presley family, having known Elvis since he was just a child. So close was Janelle McComb to the Presleys that she became the longtime director of the Elvis Presley Memorial Foundation. The McCombs were a big part of Elvis’ life and Janelle spearheaded the renovations of Elvis’ birthplace after his death, with help from the Colonel, the Presley family and RCA. As with friends that were close to Elvis, he presented Janelle with many gifts over the years and the offered ring is a stunning example. The 18-karat yellow gold ring, measuring size 6 1/2, contains thirty-nine (39) diamonds in rows around a larger center stone. The diamonds measuring approximately 2 mm to 3 mm and weighing approximately 0.04 to 0.08 carat with the larger center stone measuring 3.75 mm and weighing 0.21 carat and set atop an intricate intertwining designed band. The stunning bauble comes with a letter dated March 27, 1995 letter from Harry Levitch, Elvis’ personal Memphis jeweler, that states:

We have examined an Eighteen Karat Yellow Gold Lady’s Fancy Ring for Mrs. Janelle McComb of Tupelo, Mississippi with the following conclusions: FIRST, We sold this ring to Elvis Presley. Elvis asked us to find a beautiful ring for him to give his good friend Mrs. Janelle McComb, who had been a long time friend of his Mother and Father. Mrs. McComb also remained his friend and visited Graceland many times. Secondly, As mentioned above, the ring is 18kt Yellow Gold made as if there were two rings joined at the bottom and with to [sic] top portion making the connection with a beautiful setting into which is mounted 39 Round Brilliant Cut Diamonds weighting approximately 1.79 Carats, and are G color and SI-1 in grade of quality. Lastly, The ring has a most unusual finish which gives the gold almost a Diamond Look.

The ring also comes with a photo of the McCombs with Harry Levitch and a 2019 appraisal of the ring. This striking sparkler was not simply a random gift, but one which Elvis chose specifically with Janelle in mind, making the present a touching symbol of the adoration Elvis felt for his dear friend. The gorgeous jewel is accompanied by a letter of authenticity from Graceland Authenticated.

The ring shows only the most minor signs of wear. Near Mint condition.
