The offered original wire service photo features Elvis Presley engaged in fundraising efforts for the March of Dimes. The caption tells the story: “New York, Jan. 7 - - OUT TO LICK POLIO - - Joanne Wilson, 5, New York City’s March of Dimes poster girl last year, puts the bite on rock ‘n roll singer Elvis Presley last night by selling him a lollypop for a donation to fight polio. Elvis appeared on television to help start nationwide Teens Against Polio campaign. Joanne is from Rockaway Beach N.Y.” The reverse stamping reads “STAR JAN 8 1957”—just like Elvis to be helping others around his birthday! The photo measures 8 by 10 inches (20.32 x 25.4 cm) and is accompanied by a letter of authenticity from Graceland Authenticated.

The photo exhibits moderate to heavy toning, with several small areas of paper loss on the borders. Very Good to Excellent condition.
