From the Trude Forsher Collection

In Loving You, Elvis’ second film but his first starring role, he plays Deke Rivers, a deliveryman who is hired as a musician by a country-western promoter. In what would become a winning formula for Elvis films, Deke is caught in a chaotic plot of drama, love and music. The film, released by Paramount in 1957, opened to box office success, with two of the main songs from the film, “Loving You” and “(Let Me Be Your) Teddy Bear” receiving platinum status from the Recording Industry Association of America. While Elvis received top billing, he co-starred with Lizabeth Scott, Wendell Corey and Dolores Hart in her film debut as Susan Jessup, Deke’s love interest. Hal Wallis discovered Dolores at Loyola University and required her to change her last name from Hicks to Hart for the start of her acting career. After co-starring with Elvis in Loving You, Dolores would again be cast as Elvis’ love interest the following year in the film King Creole. Offered is a sepia-toned promotional photo of Dolores from Loving You inscribed “To Trudy, Thank you so much for wanting my picture! My best always—Sincerely Dolores Hart.” The photo measures 10 by 8 inches (25.4 x 20.32 cm) and is accompanied by a letter of authenticity from Graceland Authenticated.

The photo presents free of defects. Near Mint condition.
