The U.S. promotional single release with “An American Trilogy” and “The Impossible Dream” produced by Joan Deary of RCA was created as a tribute to the King of Rock ‘n’ Roll and his birthplace. The 45 single was given out on one day only—August 16, 1982. The sleeve of the single read, “IN MEMORY - August 16, 1982 - Tupelo Mississippi / You touched all our lives with the heart of your music and the heart of your self. No one of us is quite the same now that you’ve come - and gone again. Elvis - we remember because we can never forget.” The reverse side of the sleeve simply contained a large script “Elvis” against a white background. The song “American Trilogy” was originally released on the album This Is Elvis and “The Impossible Dream” was originally released on the album He Walks Beside Me. Offered is a complete box of twenty-five (25) copies of the single release, each with its original sleeve, still in the box marked on the side “JH-13302.” Each record has a yellow RCA label that contains the printing “NOT FOR SALE.” The box of 45s measures 7 1/4 by 7 1/4 inches (18.42 x 18.42 cm) and is accompanied by a letter of authenticity from Graceland Authenticated.

The cardboard case and 25 45s remain with few if any defects in Near Mint to Mint condition. All but one of the sleeves is also extremely clean, with the one being toned moderately.
