From the collection of “Rockin’” Robin Rosaaen.
This handsome framed display features black-and-white 8 x 10 inch photos of Colonel Parker and Elvis, one of which is signed and inscribed in brown marker “To the dog house [remainder is undecipherable]” by Colonel Parker across the image. The gentleman standing to the right of Elvis in that image is Frank Folsom, president of RCA—this was autographed likely as a gift to Frank. The second picture depicts Elvis and Colonel Parker in front of a well constructed dog house with a banner that reads “The Dog House That Frank Helped Build,” a reference to Frank Folsom. The Colonel had the dog house built to honor Nipper, RCA’s dog mascot, and it listed song titles on the sides. The 1950s event presenting the dog house to Frank was attended by the executives of RCA and their wives. In the images Colonel Parker can be seen wearing an Elvis pinback button similar to the one at the bottom of the framed display. The framed arrangement measures 27 1/4 by 15 1/4 inches (69.21 x 38.73 cm) and is accompanied by a letter of authenticity from Graceland Authenticated.
The photos contain creasing overall which in no way affects the visual appeal. The lower image contains minor staining.
