After an incredibly successful movie career, Elvis returns to his musical roots and entertaining fans in person. He begins performing at the International Hotel in Las Vegas in 1969 and embarks on concert tours. Despite being out of the live performance spotlight, he returns with a vengeance to widespread appeal and adoration from fans. The following year, Elvis’ 1970 Summer Festival was documented in the MGM film Elvis: That’s the Way It Is, which chronicled his return to live performances. Elvis continued to dominate the Las Vegas concert scene in the 1970s as well as taking on heavy concert tour schedules across the nation. Elvis continued cruising at full speed in 1975, 1976 and 1977 as he crossed the country performing multiple different tours over hundreds of days and numerous concerts. A grueling schedule, yet Elvis received reviews that touted him as having “matured into an excellent and sensitive artist - an impressive sight.” Offered is a collection of nine (9) color slides of Elvis both performing in concert and backstage from the mid-1970s that includes:

  • Two (2) Fotos International slides (undated) with Elvis in black velvet jacket with red scarf (not on stage);
  • One Kodak Ektachrome dated Jul 75 on the reverse, also stamped “Doug Bruce Camera 5,” with Elvis wearing sunglasses in a two-tone suit (not on stage);
  • One unmarked slide with stamp “Seal edge with warm iron, do not touch film. Made in USA” with Elvis on stairs on a stage in the Rainfall jumpsuit;
  • One Fotos International slide with Elvis in blue shirt (not on stage);
  • One Ameuropress Argentinian slide circa 1976 with Elvis in blue Egyptian Bird jumpsuit with original bicentennial belt;
  • One Kodak Ektachrome dated Dec 76 on the reverse with Elvis in Egyptian jumpsuit with lei around his neck (possibly from the 12-29-76 Birmingham, Alabama concert);
  • One Kodak Ektachrome dated May 77 on the reverse with Elvis in Chief/Indian Feather jumpsuit; and
  • One Kodak Ektachrome dated Jun 78 on the reverse with Elvis in blue Egyptian Bird jumpsuit.

This collection perfectly depicts Elvis in all of his performing glory as he captures the hearts of fans all over the U.S. in the mid-1970s. Each slide measures 2 by 2 inches (5.08 x 5.08 cm) and the group is accompanied by a letter of authenticity from Graceland Authenticated.

The slides are in excellent condition overall.
