Elvis redefined what it meant to play Las Vegas once he hit the stage at the International Hotel on July 31, 1969. After nearly a decade of focusing on movies, he returned to live performing, and between 1969 and 1976 Elvis delighted audiences at more than 600 sold-out shows. Elvis also performed a multitude of shows at Del Webb’s Sahara Tahoe Hotel and Casino from 1971 through 1976. Those shows were beloved by fans and Elvis alike for their more intimate atmosphere. The Colonel was never shy about plastering promotional material everywhere at the Sahara Tahoe and the International Hotel to promote Elvis’ concerts and would often use a successful marketing format for different shows and venues. Offered is a group of exemplars of the various marketing promotions the Colonel favored. The collection includes: two (2) 1972 mini-posters, depicting Elvis in a white jumpsuit with a red belt, each measuring 12 by 7 inches (30.48 x 17.78 cm) and with different backs, one for “Elvis Now!” through Labor Day at the Las Vegas Hilton and the second for the “World’s Largest Stuffed Teddy Bear” donated by Elvis and the Colonel; an “ELVIS IN PERSON ELVIS” round paper sign, measuring 9 inches (22.86 cm) in diameter that also reads “HEAR ELVIS ON RCA RECORDS” within the label of the record-shaped sign; an “ELVIS SUMMER FESTIVAL ELVIS” round paper sign, measuring 5 inches (12.7 cm) in diameter that also reads “SAHARA TAHOE RCA RECORDS” within the center label; and an “ELVIS NOW” heavy stock ceiling hanger sign, measuring 7 inches (17.78 cm) in diameter with “SUMMER FESTIVAL” and the Hilton logo in the center of the reverse. This classic grouping exemplifies the advertising flavor of Elvis in the 1970s. The group is accompanied by a letter of authenticity from Graceland Authenticated.

Only the round ELVIS NOW sign shows signs of wear, common on these pieces, in the way of small scuffs and scratches. Excellent condition. The other four pieces are free of defects. Near Mint to Mint condition.
