After nearly a decade of focusing on movies, Elvis returned to live performances on the stage at the International Hotel in Las Vegas in July 1969 to great fanfare. Elvis parlayed his success in Vegas to performing shows at the Sahara Hotel and Casino in Lake Tahoe. Not only did Elvis constantly grace the stage in both venues, his image adorned a plethora of different types of materials during this period. Offered is an exceptional cross-section of functional examples from invites and passes to promotional materials that includes:

  • Tri-fold Opening Night Invitation for August 6, 1973 Summer Festival at the Las Vegas Hilton, measuring 18 by 4 1/4 inches (45.72 x 10.79 cm);
  • June 15, 1976, letter on Las Vegas Hilton letterhead informing fan that Elvis will be performing from December 2, 1976 through December 12, 1976, measuring 11 by 8 1/2 inches (27.94 x 21.59 cm);
  • Oversized Invitation and Envelope for January 26, 1973, Opening Night Elvis Presley Show at the Las Vegas Hilton (2 pieces), measuring 7 1/4 x 15 1/2 inches (18.41 x 39.37 cm);

  • Sunday, May 9, 1976 pictorial ticket stub for “Elvis in Concert” at the Sahara Tahoe, measuring 6 by 3 1/2 inches (15.24 x 8.89 cm);
  • Sahara Tahoe April 30-May 9, 1976, Engagement Schedule, measuring folded 5 by 2 1/2 inches (12.7 by 6.35 cm), and open 5 by 10 inches (12.7 by 25.4 cm);
  • Two (2) announcement cards for “Sunday Morning, Sept. 3rd at 3:00 A.M.” Elvis Presley Show, green and pink variations, each measuring 4 by 6 inches (10.16 x 15.24 cm);
  • Elvis Presley Matching 1971 Summer Festival Ceiling Hanging Signs for Use at the Las Vegas International and Sahara Tahoe Hotels (2 pieces), each measuring 10 inches (25.4 cm) in diameter; and
  • Promotional Folder with two promotional photos that was sold at the souvenir stands at Elvis concerts, measuring 12 by 10 inches (30.48 x 25.4 cm).

This collection of twenty-one (21) period pieces of ephemera from Elvis’ concerts in Vegas and Tahoe in the 1970s is a wonderful cross-section of style and variation of design and functionality. The grouping is accompanied by a letter of authenticity from Graceland Authenticated.



All items show signs of moderate wear. Excellent condition with some much better.
