Elvis was granted leave from his military duties from January 5-17, 1960 and given permission to travel to Paris. Traveling with Joe Esposito, Lamar Fike, Cliff Gleaves and his karate instructor Jurgen Seydel, the group leaves for Paris on the 12th of January. During his stay in the city of love, Elvis attends several karate classes, has an impromptu jam session with the expatriate American gospel group the Golden Gate Quartet and French singer Line Renaud, and also visits the famous Le Lido, cabaret and burlesque club on the Champs-Elysees. The famous dancers at the Lido are known as Bluebell Girls, each hand-picked from around the world by founder Margaret Kelly. Offered is a black-and-white photo print sheet with twelve images of Elvis and an attractive young lady. The sheet, stapled to a larger page, has the handwritten notation at the top, “16-1-60 [January 16, 1960, in the European date format] Elvis Prestley [with the “t” scratched out].” The jovial pair, with Elvis in his dress uniform, appear to be innocently flirting and playing for the camera. The setting and female companion are unidentified; however, the date firmly puts Elvis in Paris and the dress uniform is the same that he wore to the Lido during his visit. The quality of the images, the serial numbers on the photos and the medium format film indicate these were taken by a professional photographer, possibly a French press photographer. Each image measures 2 1/4 by 2 1/4 inches (5.71 x 5.71 cm) and the sheet measures 11 by 8 inches (27.94 x 20.32 cm). This sheet of images, depicting a flirtatious encounter in the city of love, is accompanied by a letter of authenticity from Graceland Authenticated.

The contact sheet is stapled to the light green sheet, but otherwise presents with few other defects. The contrast is strong. Excellent to Mint condition.
