Record stores and record companies promoting their clients and products employed a variety of advertising materials to encourage the sale of records, and because these displayed changed with every new release, they were designed to be temporary. The advertising took the form of hanging signs, posters, window and stand-up counter displays; any available surface was utilized to push a new talent, single or album. Offered is a collection of record store advertising including counter displays, all with the original, intact standing structure on the reverse, that each present the cover of the album at actual size, and additional advertising displays. The grouping of ten (10) includes:

  • 1960 G.I. Blues album cover counter display, measuring 12 1/4 by 12 1/4 inches (31.11 x 31.11 cm);
  • 1969 From Memphis to Vegas / From Vegas to Memphis album cover counter display, measuring 12 1/4 by 12 1/4 inches (31.11 x 31.11 cm);
  • 1970 Let’s Be Friends album cover counter display, measuring 12 1/4 by 12 1/4 inches (31.11 x 31.11 cm);
  • 1970 Back in Memphis album cover counter display, measuring 12 1/4 by 12 1/4 inches (31.11 x 31.11 cm);
  • 1970 On Stage album cover counter display, measuring 12 1/4 by 12 1/4 inches (31.11 x 31.11 cm);
  • 1970 Worldwide 50 Gold Award Hits, Vol 1 album cover counter display, measuring 12 1/4 by 12 1/4 inches (31.11 x 31.11 cm);
  • 1971 The Other Sides - Worldwide 50 Gold Award Hits, Vol 2 partial display piece, measuring 6 by 16 inches (15.24 x 40.64 cm);
