This framed RCA Victor full size platinum-colored LP CRIA (Canadian Recording Insustry Association) certified platinum award was “Presented to Chris Butts to commemorate the sale of over 100,000 units of the RCA Records long-playing record album ‘Elvis Country’.” Elvis Country (I’m 10,000 Years Old) was released by RCA in January 1971 and was certified gold in December 1977 by RIAA. This Canadian award likely emanates from that same period. Elvis recorded most of the tracks on this album in a five-day studio recording session during which he sang each track live with the band. With over 35 songs recorded during those sessions, Elvis and producer Felton Jarvis recognized that he had a large number of country tracks, which prompted them to create a full album of country music, and thus was born Elvis Country. The album reached number 12 on the U.S. Billboard charts and number 6 in the U.K. This framed display includes a silver-colored plaque with an image of the album cover and the Canadian Recording Industry Association logo below the Certified Platinum indication and is mounted below the platinum-colored LP and against a black background. The award measures approximately 20 1/4 by 16 1/2 by 3/4 inches (51.43 x 41.91 x 1.90 cm) and is accompanied by a letter of authenticity from Graceland Authenticated.

Excellent condition overall.
