The production of these special colored vinyl pressings, such as the offered green vinyl example of Elvis Country, are normally attributed to Ernie Ruggeri, VP of Manufacturing for RCA. He famously had a hand in the Moody Blue LP and 45 colored vinyl pressings. These special pressings would have been done as tests or as gifts for executives and VIPs. There are reports of Indianapolis Pressing Plant employees striking a few colored vinyl records of several titles in the days that followed Elvis’ death. While the vinyl’s matrix numbers more equate with the record’s initial release in 1971, as do the outer and inner sleeves, the tan RCA labels indicate this test pressing was done no earlier than 1976. The record has most likely just been stored in originally issued outer and inner sleeves. Elvis Country (I’m 10,000 Years Old) was released by RCA in January 1971. Elvis recorded most of the tracks on this album in a five-day studio recording session during which he sang each track live with the band. With over 35 songs recorded during those sessions, Elvis and producer Felton Jarvis recognized that he had a large number of country tracks, which prompted them to create a full album of country music, and thus was born Elvis Country. The disc measures 12 inches (30.48 cm) in diameter and is accompanied by a letter of authenticity from Graceland Authenticated.

The sleeve has minor distresses, but the vinyl presents with no scuffing or scratches. NM condition.
