From the Bill Porter Collection

Please Note: All Elvis Presley signatures on the included documents are secretarial.

Elvis kept busy in Vegas and on the road in 1975 with three engagements in Las Vegas and three tours on the road. Elvis performed in Vegas in February through April before heading to Macon, Georgia on April 24 for his first concert tour series. Reviews of the first concert of the tour described the adoring fans, “Everybody loves Elvis! barked the concessioner in the lobby of the Macon Coliseum. The 11,000 fans - at Elvis Presley’s one night, sold out Macon performance seemed to agree... The fans, men and women, young and old were enthusiastic about seeing Elvis.” Fans were quoted as saying, “Anything he sings is my favorite,” and “He has magnetism that draws everybody.” The glowing reviews continued through his next 12-day tour, starting in Alabama on May 30 and ending in Memphis on June 10, and for his final tour July 8 through July 24 that took Elvis from Oklahoma to North Carolina. Elvis then returned to Vegas in August for his Summer Festival and finished the year in Sin City in December for his Holiday Jubilee. Elvis was as popular as ever as he played for audiences at sold-out shows across the nation. Offered is a grouping of important 1975 tour-related documents, emanating from the collection of sound engineer Bill Porter, that includes:

  • Signed contract for March/April 1975 Las Vegas concerts - secretarial Elvis Presley signature - plus cover letter, typed note from Tom Diskin, and “Elvis Presley Show Song Lineup” including 17 songs (4 items);
