Elvis was known to use scarves during his concert performances in the 1970s. The gesture was so popular among fans that the Colonel capitalized on it by creating and selling souvenir scarves with a printed Elvis signature at the shows. It was not uncommon for Charlie or one of the crew to grab some of these souvenir scarves to hand to Elvis during a performance, as he would continuously wipe his brow and toss the scarf into the audience. Fans were typically excited enough just to see Elvis live in concert, but imagine the thrill of catching a scarf that Elvis pulled from around his neck and tossed into the audience—that was the elation felt by the lucky fan that was fortunate enough to capture this memento from the king. This white scarf with blue “Elvis Presley” facsimile signature comes with a letter dated July 14, 2010 from the woman who received the scarf from Elvis that reads, in part:

"I spent a week in Las Vegas in August of 1974 and saw several Las Vegas acts but what I went there for was to see Elvis Presley. I saw some great acts that week but no one could match Elvis Presley. He was absolutely electrifying...I know the show I attended was a few days after opening night, and I remember he was not wearing his usual sparkling jumpsuit but instead some type of tan leather outfit. Of course the highlight of the evening for me was when I approached the stage and Elvis wrapped one of his scarves around my neck and kissed me."

Based on her description of the outfit, this was most likely the fourth night of the engagement, August 22, 1974, when Elvis wore a plain beige leather two-piece ensemble. This scarf with rounded corners comes with other mementos, including a Summer Festival menu that measures 10 by 8 inches (25.4 x 20.32 cm), a souvenir photo, a Styrofoam hat that has an inside diameter of 8 inches (20.32 cm), a souvenir pin measuring 2 1/4 inches (5.71 cm) in diameter and a small souvenir photo album measuring 4 7/8 by 4 7/8 inches (12.38 x 12.38 cm). The scarf measures 34 by 34 inches (86.36 by 86.36 cm) and is accompanied by a letter of authenticity from Graceland Authenticated.

The scarf presents with no defects, very clean with stains likely from perspiration. Near Mint condition.
