Just days after his record-breaking performance at the International Convention Center Arena in Honolulu, Hawaii which was televised to the world, Elvis flies to Las Vegas to begin his 1973 winter engagement at the Las Vegas Hilton. Elvis opens his 8th Vegas engagement with an 8 p.m. show on January 26 and before the close of the engagement on February 23, several shows were cancelled due to illness. Baron Hilton agrees to pay Elvis in full despite the missed performances and the Colonel matches that generosity by promising to make up the missed engagements at a later date. Offered are two “Elvis Now” Las Vegas Hilton turquoise and gold souvenir menus from this January 26 through February 23 engagement. The rare mini-version of this iconic menu comes with the standard version that offers a variety of wines to accompany the discerning entrees of breast of young capon, baked lobster tail, roast prime rib of beef, and broiled New York steak. The reverse of the menu advertises Elvis’ latest albums: Elvis: As Recorded at Madison Square Garden, Aloha from Hawaii via Satellite, and Burning Love and Hits from his Movies while also promoting his MGM movie Elvis on Tour. This exact example of the mini-version of the menu was actually featured in the 1983 edition of Rosalind Cranor's seminal guide Elvis Collectibles. The scarce small menu measures 3 7/8 x 7 5/8 inches (9.84 x 19.36 cm) while the standard size menu measures 7 by 14 inches (17.78 x 35.56 cm). Also included with the menu is an envelope postmarked August 26, 1981, in which the menu was sent to our consignor from another collector. This special grouping is accompanied by a letter of authenticity from Graceland Authenticated.

The menu presents in Near Mint to Mint condition.
