The offered standard response letter sent to fans is not on letterhead paper but on a pink paper stock. It lists Elvis’ scheduled appearances for July through September 8, 1971, at the Lake Tahoe Sahara and the Las Vegas International Hotel. The letter continues by mentioning the upcoming release of “I’m Leavin’” on 45 and the new album Love Letters from Elvis, as well as the upcoming Worldwide Gold Award Hits Volume 2 boxed set. These letters were often sent in response to fan mail or as public relations letters to alert fans of upcoming events on Elvis’ schedule. This letter is hand-signed by Tom Diskin with an added annotation in blue ink: “On behalf of the Colonel sincere thanks for the birthday greetings.” The letter comes with the original envelope on MGM Culver City, CA letterhead with added typed identification “Col. Parker 1889,” and is addressed to a Gay Foster with a Los Angeles address, and postmarked on July 8, 1971. The letter measures 8 1/2 by 11 inches (21.59 x 27.94 cm) and is accompanied by a letter of authenticity from Graceland Authenticated.

The letter exhibits the standard horizontal crease lines from folding and is in otherwise excellent condition overall. The envelope has a stain near the center of the upper front edge and was torn along the upper edge when opened.
