In the 1970s, Elvis was busy performing on stage in Vegas, Tahoe and on the road in stadiums and large concert venues across the nation. In November 1971, a month from which three tickets stubs are included in this collection, Al Dvorin took over announcements during the concerts and began utilizing the now famous phrase “Elvis has left the building.” 1973 began with Elvis performing the first concert via satellite in “Aloha From Hawaii.” Demand for tickets for his concerts this year were high, with a June 21 concert in Atlanta added as an additional show when the later June dates sold out immediately (a ticket from this show is included in the collection along with five [5] more from this June and July tour). 1974 was the busiest touring schedule since the 1950s for Elvis and included a return to the Memphis Mid-South Coliseum—this was Elvis’ first time back since 1961 and prompted the creation of a live homecoming album. The offered collection includes eleven (11) ticket stubs from 1974 with a stub from the March 16th show in Memphis as well as snapshots from that performance. This comprehensive grouping of ticket stubs (full tickets noted) totaling 20 with 15 modern photo prints and a 1973 souvenir folio includes:
