Elvis loved jewelry and often his spirituality affected the gems he chose. He favored certain stones and tiger’s eye was one such stone, perhaps because it is believed to bring harmony, balance and protection as well as enhance good luck. The iconic stone’s appeal, so popular among gentleman in the 1970s, lies in an effect known as chatoyancy, which creates the thin elliptical line that crosses the center of the stone and gives it the look of a cat’s eye. This comes from the parallel mineral fibers within the stone that, when polished in its cabochon shape, reflect the light in a certain manner. Tiger’s eye stone is actually a form of quartz and has unique coloring of golden browns. This classic 14-karat yellow gold men’s ring with center raised tiger’s eye stone set on a rectangular ground flanked by textured shoulders weighs 12 grams and is marked “14K” and with an encircled “K” on the inside. The oval center stone measures 16 by 12 mm and the ring measures a size 9.5. This handsome ring comes with a letter from Dave Hebler which reads in part, “My name is Dave Hebler and for a number of years I was Elvis Presley’s personal bodyguard. Over the years, Elvis gave me a large number of various kinds of jewelry. One of these items was a “cats” eye jem [sic] set in gold. A pinky ring that he gave me because I was blind in one eye.” Dave Hebler was a karate expert who met Elvis in 1972 and was hired almost immediately as a personal bodyguard for the King. Elvis gifted Dave and many of his entourage a plethora of gifts over the years and perhaps this was specifically intended to ward off bad luck. The attractive ring is accompanied by a letter of authenticity from Graceland Authenticated.

The presents with moderate wear from being worn, though remains intact and free on major defects. Near Mint condition.
