Elvis’ star shone bright and part of that sparkle came from the jewels that adorned his fingers. The offered 14-karat gold, seven-diamond flower-cluster ring was owned by Elvis and gifted to J.D. Sumner. When Elvis discovered a style he liked, he would often acquire several examples of the piece of jewelry, especially since he was prone to generosity and would often give someone the shirt off his back or the ring off his finger. This was a type of ring that Elvis favored and was often known to wear on stage so it’s only fitting that he would have had multiple examples made. This example contains seven (7) diamonds each measuring 3 mm and weighing a total of 0.74 carat, with the diamonds clustered in a circular flower pattern on the face against a blackened surface set against smooth gold sides and shoulders. The ring, weighing 11 grams, is stamped with a maker’s mark and “14k” on the interior of the band, which is a size 10.

The ring was gifted by Elvis to J.D. who in turn passed the ring to his friend Mike Moon, as documented on the copy of a notarized certificate included with the ring, dated June 11, 1980 and signed by J.D. Sumner. The ring is described as “14k gold smooth finish ring with seven diamonds in a circular pattern” and is listed along with another ring and a TCB necklace. Mike Moon, a friend of JD Sumner’s, was so touched by Elvis’ generosity when he first was introduced to Elvis by JD that he began collecting Elvis memorabilia with a passion and opened a museum dedicated to Elvis in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. The provenance of this ring, passed from one friend to another then to another, is poignant and exemplifies Elvis’ tradition of giving. This dazzling ring is accompanied by a letter of authenticity from Graceland Authenticated.

The ring is in excellent condition overall with typical signs of wear and use.
