In order to easily identify members of his crew in the flurry of activity during a live show, Elvis had jackets made for his team. Offered is an example of a heavier weight winter jacket that was issued to Felton Jarvis, record producer who began working with Elvis in 1966 on his studio and concert recordings. The red wool torso of the jacket bears the “Elvis in Concert” patch on the left breast, and the white and gold TCB patch on the upper left black leather arm, which has been sewn on with white thread visible from inside the jacket. Three collar tags in the jacket read “44 Dry Clean,” “WPL 10069 / Shell / 85% Reprocessed Wool / 10% Unknown Fibers / 5% Other Fibers / S-43749 / Size 44 / Linings / 100% Acetate / Lot 2462 / Men / Stock,” and “The Jacket for Champions / Tailored by / BUTWIN / The Champion of Jackets.” The care tag reads, “Professionally dry clean only. Cleaners: Use short cycle, light charge. Extract lightly. Clear rinse, air dry on form.” This fine example comes with a signed letter from Tony Frost that states in part:

This 1977 “Elvis in Concert” fall/winter tour leather jacket with thick red wool body, striped collar and black leather sleeves was given to my uncle, Felton Jarvis. There is a large “Elvis in Concert” patch on the left breast and TCB logo in gold on a white patch on the upper left sleeve. In addition there is a Butwin clothing label at the collar. There are only a couple of these jackets in existence as Elvis hasn’t distributed the winter leather jackets to the Memphis Mafia and band members for the upcoming tour. Felton and Mary Jarvis were my uncle and aunt. This Elvis in Concert jacket is one of several Elvis Presley items left to me....personal items of Elvis Presley’s that were given to my uncle during their ten year friendship.

This is a quality jacket in its own right and made extra special as one of the originals given to Felton Jarvis by Elvis. The jacket is accompanied by a letter of authenticity from Graceland Authenticated.

The coat exhibits no significant defects. Near Mint condition.
