Part of the formula for successful records sales has always been marketing, advertising and promotion. In conjunction with the release of a new album, advertisements promoting the record would appear everywhere, including in record stores themselves. This enabled the stores to publicize the newest releases, and to get around the space limitations in the stores, the ads came in a variety of forms, including three-dimensional counter displays, double-sided ceiling hanging signs and wall posters. Offered is an excellent cross-section of five of these different styles that includes:

  • a four-lobed, double-sided hanging sign for Promised Land and earlier albums with eye-catching graphics and bold black lettering shouting “Elvis! Elvis! Elvis!” above images of Elvis in his American Eagle jumpsuit—measuring 17 7/8 by 23 13/16 inches (45.40 x 60.48 cm);
  • Elvis In Concert paper ad affixed to cardboard measuring 22 by 22 inches (55.88 x 55.88 cm);
  • two (2) From Elvis Presley Boulevard, Memphis Tennessee square paper ads, one affixed to cardboard, each measuring 22 by 22 inches (55.88 x 55.88 cm); and
  • A Legendary Performer - Volume 3 original picture disc cardboard standee advert measuring 22 by 15 inches (55.88 x 38.1 cm).

The collection of record advertisements is accompanied by a letter of authenticity from Graceland Authenticated.

“Elvis! Elvis! Elvis!” hanging advertisement is in very good condition overall with some surface staining and edge wear commensurate with age and light use. The Elvis in Concert is in good condition overall with two bent corners, one corner with missing paper and the top edge showing wear with a one-inch tear near the upper right. The two Elvis Presley Boulevard, Memphis, Tennessee ads are in good condition overall with surface creases, two small holes and two corner folds to one and tears along the top edge, tape along the four edges of the one affixed to cardboard. The standing cardboard picture disc ad is in excellent condition overall with very minor wear to the edges and some ink notations on the reverse.
