Roy and Janelle McComb lived in Tupelo, Mississippi, where Elvis was born, and were lifelong friends of the Presley family, having known Elvis since he was just a child. So close was Janelle McComb to the Presleys that she became the longtime director of the Elvis Presley Memorial Foundation. The McCombs were a big part of the Presleys’ lives. Offered is an original black-and-white, scalloped edge photo, of Janelle and Roy Mc Comb (on the right) standing beside Elvis and Vernon (and another unidentified couple). Elvis was in Sin City performing his August summer festival before departing on September 8th for his upcoming tour. With Elvis in Vegas during August and September 1970, this is most likely where this photo was taken. While the photo itself contains the printed “Sept 1970” in the lower white margin, this is likely the date of processing rather than the date the snapshot was taken. The photograph measures 5 by 3 1/2 inches (12.7 x 8.89 cm) and is accompanied by a letter of authenticity from Graceland Authenticated.

The photograph exhibits minor wear and creases at the edges and a horizontal crease down the center which does not impact the great image. The reverse has a few minor areas with residue. The photograph is in excellent condition overall.
